Haul! Ulta and Sephora!

Man am I a lucky gal! I have a loving Fiance (soon to be husband in 3 weeks). This wonderful man supports my love for beauty products! I love the "deer in the headlights" look though when I say I want to go to Sephora or Ulta. He usually gets pretty scared and wonders what kind of damage I will do to his wallet. This weekend I was good. It has been awhile since I have splurged on some products. This is what I got!

First and foremost!

My very first Beauty Blender!

Hot-dog I'm excited! I can't wait to try it! I purchased this at Sephora

beautyblender® single + Solid blendercleanser

 Philosophy Hope In A Jar!

I purchased this at Ulta. I have heard great things about it, but my skin is awkward when it comes to facial moisturizers. I only purchased 0.5oz in case this product does not work for me. My skin has been dry in certain areas due to my new PM beauty routine. (You can view that blog post below) The Rx acne medication really makes my skin dry and red in sensitive areas like around my mouth. I am excited to try this product!

 hope in a jar

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in LG 162 Nude Peach

I got this at Ulta! They had a good deal. Buy 1 get 1 half off. I got this color for my wedding in a few weeks :) I love NYX Mega Shine Lip Glosses!

NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in XLC05 Bonfire

I as well got this at Ulta. This will be my first time trying the Lip Creams. The swatch was really nice though. So creamy and pigmented! I got this because I am pretty sure that I do not own a berry color like this. It looks great and feels amazing on the lips. I need all of the colors of these.... STAT.... (Hint to NYX)

Bite Beauty Lipstick Duo in Lychee/Musk.

I found this at Sephora. I am pretty sure that you cannot order this through Sephora anymore and tried to find it on Bite's website, but they do not have a catalog to order from. I have tried their lip glosses before but not the lipsticks. This is not full size but the colors are so pretty and natural. These look nice. On the picture on the right, I am wearing the color Lychee. These Bite Lipsticks have great staying power! Woo Hoo! This must be what a lipstick should feel like! Feels great to me!!

I hope you all enjoyed my haul! I will let you know how everything turns out! Countdown to wedding is 3 weeks. Tomorrow I get my Marriage License. Wish me luck! Please let me know if there are any products that you would like for me to try and review! Please read through previous blog entries and comment! Also, if you enjoy my blog, please take time to subscribe. I look forward to many more to come!

Review!! Milani "Easybrow" Pencil

One of the products that I never give a try are eyebrow products. The is reason is because I loved the Bare Minerals Loose Eyebrow Powder. I found out that they have discontinued the product and now have an eye pencil. I was bummed and not sure what I should do and use to replace. I did lots of research and reading using apps on my phone such as Sephora and Ulta (my favs :P) and also by watching my favorite gals on YouTube. Many brow products were quite expensive. I couldn't find any loose eyebrow powders at the drugstore and was concerned because at the moment I have my hair color dark brown which is nearly black. My natural hair color is medium brown. I have heard that a lot of the eyebrow products can appear a little on the red side once you apply it. I needed something fairly dark to fill in my nearly naked brows. One can't really swatch at a grocery store, but lucky me, I have really been enjoying some Milani baked blushes, and this little eyebrow pencil caught my eye:

This is the Milani "Easybrow" Pencil in Dark Brown.

EASYBROW
Smooth-glide formula delivers expert filling and lining that doesn't skip. Includes a spoolie brush end to blend, soften and smooth, leaving the most natural of brows to define and frame the face. Propel tip, no sharpening required.
That being said, lets take a look at a couple pictures.

 First, the swatch:

 Now the before and after:

I was so afraid to use the pencil! My eyebrows needed help though. The brows complete my look for the day. You can see the difference in the two pictures! Basically I love the pencil! I love that it is waterproof and love that it does not pull red for me. It lasts all day! The best part is that it is so easy to apply. I think that my brows look way more natural now then when I used the Bare Minerals Loose Brow Powder. Thank you Milani for making this transition as smooth as possible! I definitely recommend this product! Cheers!

                                                        Love,
                                                              Rebecha

My New PM Skincare Routine Beginning May 15,2014 **UPDATE Below**

Alright Ladies! I have decided to try a different PM Skincare Routine. I have basically been fed up with my massively huge pores. It is hard for me to do close of pics of my face because they are so obvious! Notice in the blow pic:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

See what I mean? I know that you can see them! Don't lie! Notice to large pores on my cheek and the side of my nose. Both fingers are crossed that this routine will help my pores appear smaller. A little background about my skin: I have very very oily and acne prone skin. I am always trying new things for my skin. For the past month, I have been using the Acne Free system which I purchased at Walmart. I really enjoy the cleanser... well all three of the products are good. I would say that it treats acne well but my pores are still so huge. The product details do not indicate that pores will appear smaller but that the product does go deeply into the pores to help prevent breakouts. This claim is true. The product directions recommends that you use all three steps twice daily. I use the cleanser twice daily but I only use the RenewingToner and Repair Lotion at night. In the mornings I just like to cleanse my face and then use a primer before my foundation. I know that I should probably be using a moisturizer, but I have not been able to find one that keeps my skin clear. (If you have any thoughts on ones that I could try, please leave me a comment!) Here is what I am going to be trying out as my PM routine in hopes of vanishing my pores (Click on the blue links to read more information about product details):

First and foremost I have to give props to a special tool that is very vital to my skin care routine. This is the amazing, wonderful Clarizonic Mia 2.

Step 1 Cleanser: Neutrogena Pore Refining Daily Cleanser

Step 2 Toner: Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner

Step 3 Treatment: Prescription Only! Adapalene Gel
                            L'Oreal Revitalift Eye Cream

On Wednesdays and Sundays I like to use a Face Mask:
On Wednesdays I usually use Clinique Acne Oil-Control Cleansing Mask
On Sundays I love to use the Ole Henriksen Power Peel (I am out of this product at the moment :(

That said.... I began this skin care routine on May 15, 2014. I will keep you updated if this new routine is helping to shrink my pores. I will add updated pictures and such. Please comment if you have any other ideas for me!

**Update as of 05/31/2014!!**

Update as of 05-31-2014!! I had to quit using the Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser. At first I thought that it was working well, but my skin started feeling out of sorts. It was extremely harsh on my eye area and made under eye lines more prominent and dry. I thought I would cry! Beginning this evening, I will be switching my cleanser to the Philosophy Purity Cleanser. Everything else seems to be working fine thus far! I will keep you updated! Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Love, Rebecha

Believing In Prayer

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!I just wanted to share something that I read this afternoon from the Bible. I enjoyed reading this because it reminds me that no prayer is too small. Sometimes I feel as though I am praying and asking for too much that could possibly not be answered. I am glad to be reminded that no prayer or hope is too small. I hope that this can be a reminder to you too. Enjoy your weekend!

The Fig Tree Withers

18 Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. 19 Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.
20 When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.
21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

I have not tried any of the products yet, but I will keep you updated as I begin to. I am not disappointed in what I received this month. Becca's Beauty Favorites April 2014

Hey Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! I am really excited about my Blog Post today because it is all about my beauty favorites for the month of April! It was so hard to narrow my favs to 8. I have included a link to each product if you are interested in researching more as well as an image. Please let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you think about them! Here we go!

Ole Henriksen Power Peel:

Power Peel
This is my favorite face product that I think I have ever tried! I am all about preventing wrinkles and age spots.I am all about this peel that I use once a week. This is a 3 step process. First you exfoliate with the Almond Polish. Second, you apply the Lemon Strip Peel and Last, you apply the Chamomile Comfort Clay Mask. 6 Treatments will run you about $45.00. You may also purchase 2 Treatments for $16.00. To me this is my beauty splurge. My skin just feels so soft and even after this treatment.

It's A 10 Miracle Styling Mousse:

Hello curly hair without frizz! It's a 10..... Where have you been all my life? This styling mousse is A-MAZ-ING! The mousse does not contain any alcohol so it does not dry my hair out. This amazing hair product delivers on all 10 claims listed in the picture. I get nothing but compliments on my now shiny curly hair. They should add a 11. I would add "Hair color is more natural and healthy". No way could I live without this!

Milani Baked Blush #10 Delizioso Pink:

Milani Baked Powder Blush

This blush is Gorgeous! A lovely matte, bright, light pink color. This blush could last a gal months! You just barely dip your blush brush in the product and it picks up just the right amount of product. use lightly! Brush this blush across the apples of your cheeks and BAM!Divalicious! (Is that a word?)

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette:

Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection
O-My-GOOOODDDNESSSSS! This palette is :YUMMY! Beautiful neutral eyeshadow palette with the smell of Chocolate. You open this palette and it's like  you are opening up a box of chocolates. Each color is named after a chocolate in a scrumptious box of chocolates. I don't think I am giving this palette any justice! I didn't own a neutral palette because I love bold colors depending on the color shirt I am wearing. I had to pick this puppy up though and I am not disappointed. You gotta give this hon-ken chocolate bar some love!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Anti-Aging:

Dear Urban Decay,
I love you! Will you send one of your talented make up artists to my wedding on June 14th to do my make up? Ladies..... Urban Decay is my ultimate favorite when it comes to eyeshadows. Especially for a gal that is not afraid of wearing bright bold colors. Ok.. I'm getting off topic here. Alright, I'm back! Eyeshadow Primer Potion! Unbelievable! I have extremely oily skin which includes oily eyelids. This bad boy makes sure that my eyeshadow stays strong ALL day long with ZERO creasing. The primer goes on clear but does come in other colors with some shimmer. Please try this!

Ulta Matte Prime:

This Primer is amazing for Oily Skin! Matte Prime holds strong against oily skin. I found that this product is extra nice with the addition of salycylic acid which helps fight breakouts. Great for evening out the skin before foundation application. I didn't think that a primer was necessary until I started using this primer. Gals, It is totally NECESSARY!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind #160 Brightner:

Instant Age Rewind® Eraser Dark Circles Concealer + Treatment

Oh Yeah!I love how this products conceals and brightens my under-eye area. My under-eye area appears rather dark first thing in the mornings. I have come to find that this under-eye miracle also prevents mascara and eyeliner smudging towards the end of the day. I have very oily eyelids and towards the end of my day I was always taking a tissue and rubbing off the mascara and eyeliner that would run under my eyes. Not no more baby! Holla!

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Chandelier:

I LOVE Lip Gloss!NYX lip glosses are my ultimate fav! Not too goopey and gooey, smells great, great pigmentation and lasting color/shine. Chandelier is a light, frosted pinky color. So pretty! You can find these lovely glosses at NYX website, Ulta, and select drugstores.

I hope that my list of favorites for the month of April intrigues your beauty seances! What are your favorites for April? Have a great week everyone!
                                                         Love,

Getting Spiritually Ready Each Day

Happy Friday! I hope that everyone had a good week. I read this Devotional today and wanted to share it. biblegateway.com is a great tool to use to look up passages easily. They offer several reading plans and devotionals as well. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do! What are your thoughts?

                                                    Love,

Women's Devotional Bible - Friday, May 2, 2014

Jeremiah 2:32–33
Like many women each morning, perhaps you wake up, pour yourself a cup of caffeine, take a shower and then get ready to meet the world. You pick out an outfit (preferably one that makes you look five to ten pounds lighter), do your hair and put on makeup. Finally, you add jewelry, a belt and maybe a purse. Voilá! You’re ready to meet the day.
The care involved in our routines begs the question: How much time do we spend getting ready spiritually each morning? Do we take any time at all to ask God to guide us during our day? Do we read the Scriptures, meditate or pray so that we can be more patient, kind and loving with our spouse and children? Or do we worry more about getting out the door than about the condition of our hearts?
Caring for our outward appearance is not wrong . . . as long as we don’t neglect focusing on our inner thoughts and attitudes too. The prophet Jeremiah noted that women are unlikely to forget their accessories, but God’s people are prone to forget him. If we’re honest, we’ll admit that we are much like the Israelites. In the midst of our busy lives, God often gets pushed to the bottom of our to-do lists. But spiritual growth happens from the inside out.
Try this: Tomorrow as you shower, praise God for the cleansing that Jesus’ forgiveness provides. As you’re getting dressed, thank God for clothing you with Christ’s righteousness. When you put on your moisturizer, ask God to soften your heart to his leading throughout the day. As you apply your makeup, thank him for being the foundation of your life. When you put in your contacts, ask God to give you eyes to see his workings in the world. And as you put on your earrings, thank him for beautifying your life with the fruits of the Spirit.
Who knows? After talking to God throughout the morning, you might not even need caffeine!

Reflection

  1. What “enemies of the soul” (busyness, etc.) cause you to sometimes forget to take time with God?
  2. How much time do you spend daily in prayer and Bible study, preparing your heart for the day?
  3. What are some ways you can become more balanced in your life?
Jeremiah 2:32
“Does a young woman forget her jewelry, a bride her wedding ornaments? Yet my people have forgotten me, days without number.”
